What is the VIECC® Vienna Comic Con and the VCA® Vienna Challengers Arena?
The VIECC® Vienna Comic Con together with the VCA® Vienna Challengers Arena is THE top event for pop culture and gaming in Austria and in this orientation unique in the whole of Central Europe. The events have been built since 2015 together with ReedPop – organizer of New York Comic Con, Star Wars Celebration or PAX and thus the largest provider of pop culture and gaming events in the world.
Look forward to international star power from film, TV, comics, cosplay, fantasy and gaming. VIECC® Vienna Comic Con and VCA® Vienna Challengers Arena are organized by Austrian Exhibitions Experts GmbH.
What kind of event can I expect?
VIECC® Vienna Comic Con and VCA® Vienna Challengers Arena offer a wide range of events and entertainment: Autograph sessions, behind-the-scenes insights, fan films, costume workshops and contests, Q&As with celebrities and insights into the future of pop culture as well as gaming and e-sports. VIECC® Vienna Comic Con and VCA® Vienna Challengers Arena feature panels, screenings and special events that express the passion of some of pop culture’s most dedicated fans and professionals. The full show program will be released about a month before the convention. The topics of the panels at VIECC® Vienna Comic Con and VCA® Vienna Challengers Arena range from movies/television series to cosplay, comics, gaming and special screenings and events.
Can I take photos?
By and large, feel free to take photos and videos at VIECC® Vienna Comic Con and VCA® Vienna Challengers Arena and share them on social media with the hashtag #VIECC. However, please note that all audio and video recording is prohibited during performances, concerts and during many live shows. Please also understand that guests/stars may or may not pose for photos with fans. Guests/stars have a right to their privacy, and if they ask not to be photographed, please respect their wishes.
Will I be in front of the camera?
VIECC® Vienna Comic Con and VCA® Vienna Challengers Arena attract local, national and international press. By attending VIECC® Vienna Comic Con and the VCA® Vienna Challengers Arena, you give your consent to be photographed and filmed. You may appear on www.viecc.com, www.challengersarena.com, our social media presences, sales and promotional materials, or material published by press and media outlets (web and print).
Will the guests/stars sign autographs and can I take photos?
Yes, the entertainment guests/stars will sign autographs and be available for photo sessions. If you want a photo, you have to buy a token. These tokens will be available for sale in advance online in the ticket store or on-site. We will announce more details about the token process soon (see Ticketshop).
More details on the planned autograph and photo sessions at VIECC® Vienna Comic Con will be announced soon. Guests will sign the VIECC® program booklet and only officially licensed DVDs, comics, toys and other collectibles, but no bootleg items. Some guests will sign autographs for free, but this is at the discretion of each guest. Autograph cards of each guest/star will be available in the Autographing Area at the respective desk free of charge for token buyers. With each token an autograph card is included in the purchase and can be selected by the buyer.
What is Artist Alley?
Artist Alley is the place where you can interact with the best cartoonists, inkers, writers and creators from all areas of comics, manga, graphic novels and other genres and purchase various works and unique pieces. Artist Alley is located on the exhibition floor.
Are there parking facilities?
Yes, there is the parking garage A at Nordportalstraße 172, 1020 Vienna and as a visitor of the VIECC® Vienna Comic Con and the VCA Vienna Challengers Arena you get a flatrate for 22 Euro incl. VAT at our cash desks in Foyer A of Messe Wien.
Where can I find an ATM?
An ATM is located inside the fairgrounds, in the mall. Others are located outside, next to the U2 station Messe behind multi-storey parking lot A and in the direction of WU-Wien at Erste Bank and next to the U2 station Krieau at Bank Austria and SPAR.
Do you clear the halls between panels and screenings?
VIECC® Vienna Comic Con and VCA® Vienna Challengers Arena will clear the Main Stage after each panel. Only the Main Stage will be cleared after each panel. No other panel space is being cleared at this time.
In which language will the panels be held?
The majority of the panels will be held in English, as most of our guests come from different countries. In the online and print versions of the program, you will find a labeling of the German and English language panels.
How much do the tickets cost and where can I buy them?
Ticket prices for VIECC® Vienna Comic Con and VCA® Vienna Challengers Arena vary. Check out our ticket store at viecc.com/tickets for a complete listing of all prices. Tickets can be purchased directly on the Vienna Comic Con website or on oeticket.com, as well as at all OETicket advance booking offices.
Who needs a ticket?
All children under 5 years do not need a ticket. You will be admitted free of charge, but you must be accompanied by at least. be accompanied by an adult/guardian with a valid adult ticket.
All children between the ages of 6 and 12 must purchase a children’s ticket to attend VIECC® Vienna Comic Con and VCA® Vienna Challengers Arena. All children under 13 must have a valid child ticket and be accompanied by an adult/guardian with a valid adult ticket. Please have proof of age ready before the show (passport check at the entrance).
Visitors:inside from 13 to 17 years need a youth ticket, all visitors from 18 years on need an adult ticket to visit the VIECC® Vienna Comic Con.
VIECC® Vienna Comic Con tickets are valid for both the VIECC® Vienna Comic Con and the VCA® Vienna Challengers Arena. There are NO separate tickets for the VCA® Vienna Challengers Arena anymore!
Where can I get my tickets?
You can buy your ticket via the VIECC® online ticket store, on oeticket.com or in all OETicket ticket agencies (tobacconists, ÖBB ticket counters, Libro, etc.). You can find a list of all advance ticket sales here: www.oeticket.com/en/help/outlets Tickets go on sale in mid-March with limited Early Bird prices. The number of tickets is limited. To secure your place at VIECC® Vienna Comic Con and VCA® Vienna Challengers Arena, please book online in advance and as early as possible. Tickets will be more expensive at the box office – if they are not completely sold out. So secure your participation in the VIECC® and VCA® as soon as possible!
What about refunds?
Once you have purchased a ticket, it is yours and valid until the event period. Sorry, we do not offer exchanges or refunds for VIECC® tickets. If you have any questions, please contact the OETicket support (also on site).

What does the VIECC® Vienna Comic Con think about bootlegs?
The purchase and sale of counterfeit/copyrighted/unlicensed/bootleg materials will not be tolerated at VIECC® Vienna Comic Con and VCA® Vienna Challengers Arena. The VIECC® and the VCA® are a celebration of the best of popular culture, and bootlegs have no place at the show. Violation of this rule will result in a one-time warning. If you commit a second offense, you will be disqualified from the show. This applies to both exhibitors and visitors! We have a professional team on site that permanently checks bootlegs and are in close coordination with the exhibition management.
What should I do if I am being harassed?
Harassment of any kind, including stalking, intentional intimidation, unwanted physical attention, physical assault and battery, will not be tolerated at VIECC® Vienna Comic Con. What is illegal outside the convention center is also illegal inside the convention center. Harassment is grounds for expulsion from the convention without refund of ticket, as well as possible legal action. We want VIECC® Vienna Comic Con and the VCA® Vienna Challengers Arena to be a safe, open and accepting environment for all fans. If you are the victim of harassment at the convention, please come immediately to the VIECC® and VCA® Info Desk or contact staff, crew or security. Can you watch my children?
Sorry, VIECC® Vienna Comic Con does not offer childcare at the moment. Please note that there are some activities in our Family Fun Zone that offer childcare on a private (exhibitor to visitor) basis. Please contact the respective exhibitor for further and detailed information about the conditions directly on the showfloor.
Conditions for participation in sweepstakes on social media
Participation in sweepstakes is voluntary and free of charge. Any costs incurred by the participants (in the following, personal designations apply equally to persons of either sex) are not reimbursable.
A cash payment of the non-cash assets or an exchange of the prizes is not possible. The prizes are not transferable.
The organizer is entitled to change the prices at any time. Austrian Exhibition Experts GmbH assumes no liability for any damage, loss, injury or disappointment incurred by the participating persons as a result of the preparation for participation, participation in the competition or receipt of a prize.
By participating, the participant expressly agrees that the first name, surname and photos of the winner may be published on all online channels of Austrian Exhibition Experts GmbH in connection with the competition (raffle, award ceremony, etc.).
By participating, the participant also expressly agrees to the collection, storage and processing of his/her contact data (name, address, e-mail) in the event of a win.
Austrian Exhibition Experts GmbH reserves the right to exclude persons from the competition in the event of a breach of these conditions of participation or if incorrect personal data is provided. Austrian Exhibition Experts GmbH reserves the right, at its own discretion, to exclude participants from participation at any time due to the transmission of insulting, racist, homophobic, violence glorifying or discriminatory content.
The winners will be determined at random by the organizer after the end of the competition. The decision on the winners is final. In the event of a win, the participant will be notified directly. If the prize cannot be delivered to the postal or e-mail address provided or cannot be collected by the winner, the prize will be forfeited within 30 (thirty) days of notification of the prize. The prize cannot be redeemed in cash. By participating in the competition, the conditions of participation are accepted. The decision of the jury is final. Austrian Exhibition Experts GmbH reserves the right to change, amend or cancel the competition and the conditions of participation without prior notice and without giving reasons. Should any provision of these Terms and Conditions of Participation be invalid, the validity or enforceability of the remaining provisions shall not be affected thereby and the invalid provision shall be replaced by the valid or legal provision that comes closest to the purpose pursued by the invalid provision. Austrian law shall apply to these Terms and Conditions of Participation. The exclusive place of jurisdiction is the competent court in Austria.
What is the Family Ticket?
The Family Ticket is intended to offer families the opportunity to visit Vienna Comic Con at a lower overall price. You buy one ticket for 4 people and get 4 one-way tickets, but they are ONLY valid in combination. The tickets are valid for max. 2 adults and max. 2 children/youth from 6-17 years old. Family tickets are ONLY available as afternoon tickets. Admission is from 13:00. It must be at least 1 adult:r/guardian:r to be present on site. ATTENTION: Limited quantity!
What is the Style Ticket?
The Style Ticket is intended to give cosplayers and costumed guests in particular the opportunity to be even more in the spotlight. Tickets are cheaper, but strictly limited and the buyer/buyer agrees to attend the convention in a high quality costume/cosplay/disguise. At the entrance, our style control is waiting and checks if the quality of the costume is appropriate for the red carpet or not. Style Control reserves the right to reject costumes if the costuming is not appropriate. The purchaser then has the option of exchanging the style ticket for a normal day ticket at the box office, but must pay the surcharge for the day ticket.
What are afternoon tickets?
To avoid the enormous rush of visitors in the morning, we will be offering discounted afternoon tickets for the first time in 2023. Admission is from 13:00. The afternoon tickets are limited.
Are there no more badges this year?
To avoid delays or long waiting times at the entrance, there will be no badge exchange in 2023! You scan your ticket at the entrance and can immediately enter all areas of the Vienna Comic Con. If you want to leave the exhibition grounds and enter again afterwards, you will receive a stamp from the staff at the entrance or exit. Only with a valid stamp you can enter again. Limited edition badges will be available for collectors at the official VIECC® merch booth. You will then receive these free of charge with a purchase at the stand. Premium and VIP ticket holders will also receive their badges at the VIECC® merch booth. This measure is intended to prevent an unnecessarily long queuing situation and to avoid that tickets that are not needed are destroyed or thrown away.
