Sarah’s Scribbles is the name under which Sarah Andersen has been publishing “comics for barely functioning humans, created by a barely functioning human” for over a decade.
She started posting her semi-autobiographical comics about the obstacles and struggles of growing up and being a millennial on Tumblr while she was in college in 2011.
Since then, there’s hardly a social media platform on which you won’t come across her true-to-life comics, which depict Andersen’s protagonist with the tangled hair struggling with social anxiety, body image issues and laziness.
Every book in Sarah’s Scribbles has won the Goodreads Choice Award in the “Graphic Novel & Comics” category in 2016, 2017 and 2018.
In 2018, the webcomic received the Ringo Award for Best Comic Strip or Panel.
In 2024 Andersen won the Reuben Award in the category “Online Comic Short Form”.
