Whether it’s drum rolls or fanfares, the next guest could probably produce both himself, because he is the man of 10,000 sound effects! Michael Winslow was born on September 6, 1958 in Spokane, Washington, USA. He is an actor and author who became known for Police Academy – Dumber than the Police Allow (1984). Winslow’s Police Academy character Larvelle Jones is the only character to appear in all parts of Police Academy, including all seven films, the cartoon and the television series.
He is also known from Spaceballs – Mel Brooks’ crazy space travel (1987).
For his role in the film Space Balls, he created all the sound effects himself and no external effects were used. Mel Brooks joked that they were able to save a lot of money on sound effects because of this.
Apart from smaller roles in film and television, Michael has been touring as a stand-up comedian for some time, showing what he can do with his voice as the “Man of 10,000 Sound Effects”.
