Bernhard Hennen
Bernhard Hennen, born in Krefeld in 1966, is a trained Germanist, archaeologist and historian.
He completed his studies at the University of Cologne.
During his studies, he worked as a journalist for various newspapers and radio stations.
For his work as a journalist and research for his novels, he traveled halfway around the world (including Nicaragua, China, Ukraine, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, USA). In 1993, he wrote his first novel (The Year of the Gryphon) together with Wolfgang Hohlbein, which was awarded the prize for best German fantasy novel in the same year.
Bernhard Hennen currently has more than 60 historical and fantasy novels to his name, as well as a number of short stories and novellas.
His books have been translated into ten languages, have sold more than five million copies worldwide and have been on the bestseller list in Germany for more than 100 weeks.
In 2019, his book “The Chronicles of Azuhr – The Cursed One” was awarded the Seraph for best novel (fantasy) of the year at the Leipzig Book Fair.
Since visiting us in 2022, he has published numerous other works.
These include books in the Elven series, the Phileasson saga, which he writes together with Robert Corvus, and the “Mines of Power”, which are written in collaboration with Sam Feuerbach, Mira Valentin, Greg Walters and Torsten Weitze. In 2024, he won first prize in the official German album charts with the band Saltatio Mortis for his collaboration on the music album “Finsterwacht”.
