Miki Montllo
A warm welcome to Miki Montllo at the Vienna Comic Con 2025!
Miki Montllo
Miki Montllò, Spanish creative and illustrator, spent the first years of his career creating storyboards for television commercials: He drew characters and backgrounds for video games (Hollywood Monsters 2, The Next Big Thing – Pendulo Studios), Broken Sword 5 (Revolution Software) and animated films (Nocturna Filmax Animation), as well as concept work for feature films (The Impossible, A Monster Calls, both by J. Bayona). He then moved to Ireland to work at animation studios Cartoon Saloon, where he worked on Oscar-nominated films such as The Breadwinner and WolfWalkers and also began work on his comic series Warship Jolly Roger, of which four books were published to international acclaim.
He later switched to the fledgling Chinese comic market, where he adapted “Proving to Humanity” by bestselling author Cixin Liu.
He is currently working on a new Wonder Woman book for the US and European markets and an adaptation of The Witcher video game.
His comics are translated into several languages and he continues to work with animation studios such as Laika, CartoonSaloon and Genndy Tartakovsky.
