Marco Castiello
Marco Castiello is an Italian comic and concept artist born in 1981. He began his career after winning an international drawing competition in 2008, which led to his first job drawing for Marvel on Secret Invasion: Frontline. He later moved to DC Comics, where he worked on several titles including Justice League of America, Justice League International and a Brightest Day spin-off.
Marco has been illustrating Star Wars and Halo comics for Dark Horse since 2011. He then worked on the popular German superhero series Perry Rhodan and also contributed to titles for IDW and 2000 AD, including Judge Dredd. He returned to DC Comics, where he worked on series such as Batman Beyond and Hawkman, and to Marvel, where he contributed to titles such as Ant-Man, Spider-Woman, Doom 2099, Captain America Annual and Loki 2099. He also returned to the Star Wars universe, working on Star Wars, Darth Vader and The High Republic: The Blade.
In addition to his comics, Marco works as a background artist in 2D animation. His work includes Space Jam: A New Legacy, Apple TV’s The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse (Oscar winner for Best Animated Short Film, 2023), Netflix’s Captain Laserhawk, and the RAI Play special To Be.
He is currently working on the trading card game Star Wars Unlimited, as a background artist for Alternate Games on the video game AfterWork and in collaboration with Digital Hazard on their first original video game title.
