While Brian Krause wanted to be a private detective as a teenager, he initially focused on soccer. However, he began acting at the age of 16 and took acting lessons. At college, soccer once again dominated his life. He wanted to become a professional player or study sports medicine, but already during his first year of study he renounced both. He left college and finally decided to pursue acting. He took part in a workshop at an early age and studied for four years with R.J. Adams at the Actors Workshop in Laguna Hills, California.
Krause made his first television appearance in 1989 in the series An Angel on Earth. This was followed by roles in You’re an Angel and Teen Vid 2. Brian had his big breakthrough in 1991 as Richard in the movie Return to the Blue Lagoon alongside Milla Jovovich. His next big role came in 1992 with Stephen King’s Sleepwalker as vampire Charles Brady, followed by roles in Bandit, Spacetrek and Affair with Death.
In 1998, he was finally discovered for the role of Leo Wyatt in Charmed. The role was initially only intended for a few episodes, but was expanded due to its popularity with fans. During the breaks from filming Charmed, Krause shot the films Trash, Dreamers and Silent Screams by the Lake as well as the Charmed specials The Women of Charmed, Behind the Magic and Charmed – Access all areas.
In 2011, he starred as Capt. Sturges in the horror science fiction film Camel Spiders and shot the pilot of the mystery series The Unknown for Sony. His work for film and television includes more than 110 productions.
